Prescription power
Reading glasses are a perfect choice if you want to improve your vision at close range. Reading glasses work like a magnifying glass and are designed to help you see better at a distance of about 40 cm. The list below are general guidelines and can be used to help you determine the correct prescription power:
35/40+ years: +1
45+ years: +1.5
50+ years: +2
55+ years: +2.5
Sizing
Glasses have three standard dimensions. You can find them on the inside of the temple, e.g. 50 20 145. The first, the lens width, is the width of the lens. The second, the width of the nose bridge, is the measurement between the lenses. The last, the temple length, measures the length between the hinge and the temple tip.
